Rodrigo Alonso Cuesta (Burgos, 1982). Resides in Spain.

This graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Burgos has had a distinguished academic formation, complemented by experiences abroad thanks to Erasmus scholarships in Portugal and Belgium.

His artistic activity focuses mainly on oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, digital art and paper, where he creates paintings, drawings and collages. His style is characterized by a rich, vivid and expressive color palette, as well as by a plastic, compositional style, with dynamic and unusual perspectives, influenced by his passion for analog photography.

The subjects he addresses in his works are “landscapes, still lifes and portraits…that’s all,” following the famous phrase by David Hockney. Although his work starts from figurative representation, he has recently begun to experiment with geometric abstraction, always in large and expansive formats.

This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions at the national level, with special emphasis on the north of Spain. For more than 20 years, he has presented his work in various towns, such as Burgos, Teruel, Vitoria and Salamanca, where his work is particularly recognized. In addition, he has won painting prizes at both national and international levels, which demonstrates his talent and recognition in the artistic field.

Recently he won the prize of the III Certamen de Arte de Motril. 2024.
