Description from the seller
Antique Bristol opaline glass vase with hand painting - birds & butterflies, around 1900, Art Nouveau
Antique vase made of Bristol opal glass (fluted glass / frosted glass) from the time of late Victorianism or early Art Nouveau (ca. 1890-1910) is for sale
Material: Opakes Bristol opal glass (high-quality, white milk glass with a characteristic shimmer).
Elegant, ruffled and pleated rim with a delicate, flowing pink gradient and fine gold trim at the top.
Elaborate, polychrome hand painting with enamel paints. A golden bird on a branch is depicted, as well as a richly detailed moth (moth motif), surrounded by fine white flowers and stylized foliage. The contours are elegantly accented with gold.
Condition: Very good antique condition without cracks or chips. The colors are strong, the gold plating on the edge shows minimal, charming wear and tear for its age.
A classic rarity for collectors of antique art glass and a stylish eye-catcher for the interior.
