Description from the seller

Fascinating Italian advertising manifesto dedicated to the Profumi Tosi of Milan.

Note well: This is a later edition probably from the 1970s.

The poster recreates the refined composition realized in 1925 by Achille Lucien Mauzan, a renowned illustrator and a leading figure of European advertising posters in the 20th century.

The scene depicts an elegant gentleman in a dark suit and top hat in front of a large door, accompanied by a mysterious blue shadow. The character seems about to knock, probably to present himself for an appointment, subtly and elegantly hinting at the seductive power of the perfume.

The rigorous geometric composition, built through vertical bands in burgundy, blue, and gold tones, fully anticipates the language of Art Deco. At the bottom lies the large handwritten inscription “Profumi Tosi,” followed by the designation Carlo Tosi & C. Società Anonima, Milano, Viale Lombardia 224.

A sophisticated and theatrical image, typical of the author’s style, capable of uniting humor, masculine elegance, and modern advertising graphics.

Poster of notable decorative effect, ideal for collectors of vintage perfumery, cosmetics, Italian graphics, Art Deco, men’s fashion, historical advertising, and modern collectibles.

The item shows signs of age, waviness, folds, and slight imperfections along the edges, as clearly documented in the photographs. The images are an integral part of the description.

Will be shipped carefully packed and protected.
