Description from the seller
The Dragon and the Pearl
This golden dragon, fierce yet elegant, clutches a flaming pearl — a symbol of wisdom, power, and inner truth. In Chinese mythology, dragons aren’t the villains of fairy tales, but revered guardians of strength and good fortune.
Fun fact: The dragon’s pearl is said to grant wishes and reveal hidden knowledge — but only to those brave enough to seek it.
Just like the dragon reaching for its glowing treasure, we all have our own “pearl” — a goal, a dream, a truth we’re chasing. Whether it’s peace of mind, creative success, or a fresh start, this little guardian reminds us to move forward with courage and purpose.
Place it where you need a bit of extra fire and focus — and let it watch over your journey.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our bronze sculptures are made from upcycled metals such as old pipelines. Our craftsmen and women collect this scrap waste which they then put in an oven at very high temperatures. Once the scrap waste pieces melt, the new raw material is ready to be used. We then use this virgin material to make our bronze sculptures. As bronze is a very eco and labour-intensive material to mine, we feel it makes much more sense to reuse the material that has already been created than to extract it – again. By doing so we are trying to close at least one waste loop.
TRANSPARENCY & WHO MADE IT
Lastly, when it comes to our working conditions, we work exclusively with Indonesian craftsmen and women in both Bali and Java. This piece specifically was made in Java, Indonesia. All of our craftsmen and women get paid a living wage that exceeds what Indonesian Law requires. Their income is enough for a comfortable home, food, education, ceremonies, and more.

Seller's Story
For over a decade, we have travelled across Indonesia to curate unique interior pieces that reflect the country’s rich craftsmanship and cultural heritage. What began as annual trips to Indonesia, a family history descendant of Dutch Indies, and a passion for handmade objects has grown into the rich collection of design objects we offer today with pride.
We specialise in sourcing authentic, artisanal pieces directly from small family-owned ateliers throughout Java, Bali, Sumatra and beyond. Our collection ranges from hand-carved décor and bronze sculptures to natural-material homeware. Each item is carefully selected for its craftsmanship, character, and story.
We have over 10 years of experience working closely with Indonesian artisans. Because of this, our expertise lies in identifying high-quality workmanship, natural materials, and unique pieces that stand out. Every lot we list on Catawiki is personally inspected by us and supports the local communities and traditional techniques we deeply believe in.
