A unique wine is born in the vineyard: on a plot of our Ygay estate, Lucas, at an altitude of 375 metres, a vineyard planted in 1978 on medium-depth, low-fertility Quaternary alluvial gravel soil, characterised by its excellent drainage and low water retention capacity.
Its exceptional nature comes from one variety: Mazuelo.
A whole year's work in the vineyard is reflected in the late harvest date, 1 November, which is carried out manually, in boxes.
Fermentation lasts 15 days with continuous pumping over and punching down to slowly but intensely extract all the potential and characteristics that this variety has assimilated during its long growing cycle.
Aged in barrels for twelve months, six in American oak and six in French oak.
Finally, it is bottled in January 2002, a limited selection of 3,600 Magnums.
