"Henri Philippe Limiers, one of the most tireless writers of his time, was born toward the end of the seventeenth century in Holland from parents who had left France for the sake of the faith. Little is known of his life. He died in 1725 in Utrecht, where he had long served as editor of the courant, the poorest then published in Holland, and which, according to Abbot Lenglet, from time to time drew sharp rebukes from the high government because of him. He wrote: L'Histoire durègne de Louis XIV, ou l'on trouve une recherche exacte des intrigues de cette cour, dans les principaux états de l'Europe, Amsterdam 1717, 7 vol. 12o".
