Description from the seller
Grand 10L Jerrican Nutella by XTC.
Sculpture in commercially manufactured steel (jerrican) and customized, finished by hand by the Artist XTC using acrylic paints and varnishes. The edition number applies to the painted finish by the artist and not to the base object, the jerrican.
Only painted, no stickers for a homogeneous result and better longevity.
Numbered out of 30 and signed underneath, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided.
(The specimen in the photo is not necessarily the one that will be shipped)
Careful packing and tracked shipping.
Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through his interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual investigation has evolved into a passion, which had to materialize.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligning with the Pop Art movement, by subverting contemporary consumer goods.
His creativity expresses itself through the bold staging of icons of popular consumer culture (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he makes clash with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermes, Veuve Clicquot champagne, or Caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, blending paint with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey and advertising and addictions in general.
All potential defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work, including any dents in areas not visible such as the underside of the jerrican.
