Gas Mask #8 is an oil painting by HugPat (born 1972), created in 2021, a 104 × 104 cm portrait in original edition, sold with a frame and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Description from the seller
With Gas Mask #8, HugPat signs a powerful, immediate, almost cinematic work. On a square format of 100 x 100 cm, the artist composes a frontal portrait of a man with a fixed gaze, masked, as if suspended in an unsettling atmosphere, at the border between contemporary tension, urban dystopia and collective memory.
The painting is distinguished by a gestural and high-contrast technique, dominated by blacks, grays and whites, with blur and speed effects crossing the face, like an image captured in motion or altered by time. This treatment gives the work a particular force: the realism of the gaze dialogues with a rougher, more instinctive material, which creates an immediate emotion.
The whole is presented in an elegant black American cradle (wood frame), for a total format of 104 x 104 cm.
The work is sold with its certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
A strong, contemporary piece, ideal for a discerning collection seeking a striking figurative work, with an identifiable signature and a real presence on the wall.
