Before the transformations, the impossible battles, and the cosmic threats, there was mainly a road, a yellow cloud, and a band that was discovering the world.
La Route des Nuages returns to the energy of early Dragon Ball: Goku as a child on Kinto-un, the tail still visible and the Nyoibo on his back, Bulma speeding on her Capsule bike, Oolong right behind. A time when adventure mattered less for power than for the pleasure of leaving without really knowing what would come after the next turn.
I built this scene as the meeting of two visual memories. On one side, the manga that accompanied an entire generation. On the other, the codes of Japanese prints: vertigo-inducing mountains, clipped pines, large red disc, graphic clouds, calligraphic cartouches, and seals that structure the image. The setting is not merely a background: it transforms the journey of Goku, Bulma, and Oolong into a true mythical crossing.
It is precisely this contrast that interests me in SKE: to make a pop-culture icon dialogue with a more traditional, textured, and contemporary artistic writing, without losing what instantly triggers the memory.
This piece speaks to those who don’t just see Goku, but remember the moment when it all began. Not yet an invincible legend. Just a kid, his friends, a road... and the sense that the whole world remained to be discovered.

- FRAMING TIPS

Your artwork is shipped rolled and protected in a tube.

Upon receipt, remove it gently and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing.

ISO formats (A3, A2, A1…) are very easy to frame with standard frames available in DIY or décor stores.

Personally, I use Leroy Merlin aluminum frames: simple, elegant, and affordable; they showcase the works perfectly.

SKE is a self-taught French artist with a versatile background who grew up in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large majority of his artistic works.

He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
