Here is an authentic historical jewel of the Mediterranean: a splendid double-strand necklace made in rare and authentic Sciacca Coral, precious Sicilian sub-fossil variety dating back to the end of the 19th / beginning of the 20th century. The coral appears in its unmistakable and sought-after salmon-pink orange tone. On the surface of the beads are clearly visible the characteristic black dots (the so-called "burns"), historically caused by the vapors and thermal action of the Sicilian submarine volcanoes (Isola Ferdinandea bank). This unique detail is the main certificate of authenticity of this very rare material, now completely exhausted for over a century. Restoration/conservation note: The necklace has recently been restrung to a high standard to ensure maximum safety, solidity and perfect wearability, making it ready to be worn. The pearls retain their original graduated stringing, starting from smaller spheres of about 3 mm up to the central larger ones of about 8 mm.
