Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life has deep roots in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small town among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome-plating.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had kept inside for so long. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern pop sculptures, vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisan know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
