Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is an Marche-born artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and electroplating.
The turning point in his life arrives with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always guarded. What for decades had been "only" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give birth to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, demonstrating that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
