Description from the seller
Series ‘Domestic Corners’ 2 - “Coffee”
Travel to those moments of pause, calm, and everyday life. “Coffee” is an intimate look at the rituals of each morning, capturing the implicit aroma and the quiet warmth of home before the day begins.
This scene places us in the heart of the kitchen: the moka pot on the stove, the metallic shine under direct light, the subtle steam rising, and the cup ready on the counter. A work full of texture, nostalgia, and the simplicity of a moment we all recognize as our own.
——
Jesús López (Valencia, 1982) began painting in oils at about nine or ten years old, a hobby he kept until finishing EGB and that paused for many years. It was during the COVID pandemic when he resumed artistic creation through watercolors, a technique that allowed him to discover a language based on transparency, synthesis, and the active role of water in the creative process.
After that reconnection with painting, he decided to return to oils, first self-taught and later training at Aguaespejo Estudio with the Jaen-born artist Francisco Salas Quesada. His work moves between realism and impressionism, with a particular interest in ordinary objects and scenes. His main reference is Joaquín Sorolla, for his expressive brushwork and, of course, the light in his works.
His journey in painting is really just beginning.
