Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the Marche hills, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chroming.
The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced block and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always safeguarded. What for decades had been “only” an excellence in technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one's most authentic talent.
