Description from the seller
Emmanuelle Pellet - Lunatique
Acrylic painting on cardboard
Height: 27 cm, Width: 22.9 cm
Unique piece, hand-painted, signed and numbered
The work depicts an interior page from the children\'s book/CD Le Roi Crapaud by the Brothers Grimm, which is included with the shipment.
About the work:
The spell is broken. Under a red velvet canopy worthy of a puppet theater, the princess in a pink dress hurls herself, arms open, toward the prince she could no longer recognize yesterday as a toad.
In a turquoise sky lit by a golden moon, large dark flowers with oversized stems watch over the scene. The ardent reds of the draperies, the deep blues of the background, and the velvety texture of the fabrics give this image a rare intensity, between enchanted naivety and the strangeness of a fairy tale.
This is not a reproduction: it is the original work, the one that was used to print the album. A unique painting, signed, that lights up both a refined child\'s room and the wall of a lover of fairy tales and poetic images.
About the artist:
Art historian by training, Emmanuelle Pellet studied at the École du Louvre and then at the Sorbonne, before being admitted to the Agrégation of Fine Arts (3rd place). After several years of teaching, she joined the Louvre Museum as head of educational outreach.
Her career now feeds a personal body of work where painting mastery dialogues with a deep culture of imagery and art history. Her creations have been exhibited in galleries in Paris, London, Singapore and Mauritius, and have been the subject of numerous publications. They are now in private collections in Europe, North America, Asia and the Indian Ocean.
