Very handsome and rare monumental stoneware vase by the renowned Belgian ceramicist Roger Guérin (1898-1954).
This impressive 35 cm high vase is made of high-quality stoneware and features a beautifully flowing glaze in natural beige, green, brown, and dark tones.
The body is decorated with an exceptional relief of a warrior with shield and spear, giving the piece a powerful and distinctive character.
The decorative, ear-shaped handles on either side and the rich glaze finish are typical of the craftsmanship for which Roger Guérin is internationally respected.
The underside bears the engraved signature "Guerin", confirming the authenticity of the piece.
Roger Guérin is regarded as one of the most important Belgian ceramicists of the first half of the twentieth century. His work is sought after by collectors of Belgian art ceramics, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and studio pottery.
