Very beautiful and imposing French carving set, presented in its original old case.

The set includes a large carving knife and a three-tined fork, both fitted with remarkable silver-inlaid handles.

The handles, especially elaborately worked, feature a rich relief and engraved decoration: acanthus leaves, vegetal friezes, geometric motifs and architectural ornaments, with ends finished by small relief motifs. A particularly decorative goldsmithing work characteristic of historicist productions in the second half of the 19th century.

Stamps are visible on the fittings, as shown in the photographs.

The blade of the knife is stainless steel. The fork has three long tines and also presents elegant work at its base.
