Where silence reigns, the soul speaks and weaves parallel paths, emotionally captivating the viewer who is often trapped by the visions of Luigi Lombardo, a silent painting, shy of the clamor, focused on the idea, extremely communicative and effective.
He regards his own works with a relationship and reflection between himself and the human circumstances he encounters, not without a fixed and concrete question about our destiny, even the most immediate and everyday one.
What the artist acutely and silently suggests in his canvases yields true meditations on the contingency of those times that engulf all of us in forced stasis and reflections of conscience from which one cannot escape.
His figures are motionless, intent on meditating or drawn to something that lies outside the bounded space of the canvas, in a contemplative search for something, perhaps an answer. In the space, color tells of itself without conditioning, breaks with the subject that alludes to figurative art, and while the play of contrasts, it does not create internal fractures; rather, in the logic of the different, it is exalted and completed.
Luigi Lombardo invites us into a world of mystical vibrations, of pure feelings, of moments stolen from the eternal flux of time.
He has received various recognitions; his works are part of national and international collections.
