This sculpture has an incredible presence. A brutal interplay of textures between the earthy roughness of the bust and the bright, metallic, silvery drips that slide from the top. That contrast creates an impactful tension between the organic, human and volcanic, and a flow that seems to illuminate, purify, and transform the figure.
Technique: Completely hand-modeled, without molds. It is built layer by layer with recycled paper, plaster, and cement until achieving a skin that looks like volcanic rock: porous, black, raw, like cooled lava. The silvery flow that runs through it is its light, its catharsis.
Signature: Hand-signed at the base.
