- Cover & Front board: Original polychrome plate depicting the heroine, a tiger, and a servant in an orientalist-fantastical setting. The colors remain very fresh and the gilding gleams brightly.
- Back board: Red percaline with a central round label stamped in relief.
- Edges: Fully gilded, preserving a beautiful shine.
- Interior: Complete book with its frontispiece under serpentine, its title page engraved, and its numerous in-text and out-of-text illustrations. Paper clean, with very rare foxing from use.
