Petro Vanni (1925-2002) - L'uscita

Pietro Vanni, a Viterbese painter between academism and avant-garde, was born in Terzone di Leonessa in 1925. He is a self-taught painter who alternated between artistic activity and social work as a leader of a workers' movement of Catholic inspiration. His artistic vocation led him to leave his social commitments and enroll in the School of Art of the Municipality of Rome. Vanni participated in several artistic events, including the "Biennale d'Arte Sacra di Bologna", and received numerous national art prizes. Among his recognitions are the "Campidoglio Gold Prize" and the gold medal of the "City of Leonessa". His work "Trilogia della Croce" is inspired by the papinian concept of a God who is all merciful and not at all a judge. Vanni is also known for his active participation in the fight against drug use and for his commitment to the community.
