Louis XIV’s Ordinance... on the matter of Waters and Forests, given at Saint-Germain-en-Laye in August 1669. With the Regulations interpreted up to now. New edition more correct than the previous ones.
Paris, Compagnie des Libraires, 1776; 12mo, 4 unnumbered pages, 640 pp.
Hardcover, full leather binding, spine ornamented with 5 raised bands, marbled edges. (Binding of the period).
Reasonable condition, bottom edge crown restored, worm damage on about one third of the work hindering reading, a light damp stain across the entire book.
Famous ordinance that established authority until the Revolution. The articles concerning hunting occupy pp. 87 to 94, those concerning fishing pp. 94 to 99. It also contains numerous decrees, edicts and ordinances from 1669 to 1775 on the same subjects.
