An important work on infant medicine and the education of young children at the beginning of the 19th century. Alphonse Leroy discusses breastfeeding, hygiene, nutrition, care of early infancy, convulsions, the use of leeches, and various treatments then employed in pediatrics.
The copy includes an engraved frontispiece, accompanied by its explanation, illustrating the principles of education and care of the child.
Bibliographic collocation: XXIV + 442 pages.
Later half-leather binding in green, gilt title on the spine. Old interior with a few foxings and signs of time, but overall legible and well preserved. The frontispiece is present.
