France - Sapeur pompiers - Military helmet - French Sapeurs-Pompiers Fire Helmet, Model 1933 – Chromed Steel with Brass Insignia

A French firefighter's helmet of the classic sapeurs-pompiers pattern, in polished chromed steel with a low ribbed comb running front to back and a full oval brim with a rolled edge.

The front carries the traditional brass insignia: a banner lettered SAPEURS POMPIERS above a mural crown, flanked by laurel and oak branches, centred on a shield bearing a flaming grenade. A second small brass grenade is mounted on the front of the comb. The insignia retains a warm, untouched patina that contrasts handsomely with the bright shell.

The interior retains its leather liner with four-tongue suspension and the leather chinstrap with metal keepers. No unit or commune name is applied, as was usual for standard-pattern communal brigade plates.
