**Description of the artwork:**
Offered is a highly decorative and vividly colored floral still life in a bulbous vase. The painting captivates with its dynamic impasto technique (spatula technique). The oil paint has been applied very thickly and with a relief-like texture, giving the summer blooms (including poppies and daisies) a fascinating three-dimensionality and tactile presence. The warm reds, yellows, and whites of the flowers glow intensely against the darker background and wonderfully capture the light.

The work is professionally stretched on a stretcher and will be auctioned together with a matching classic wooden frame featuring an elegantly delineated gold inner trim. A timeless furnishing object.
