Nicole Lubbers - Afther XL

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and independent approach to art and works with different styles, techniques and media. In her work, color, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particular highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole presents together with artist Michael Lam the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together in this and form a shared dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers’s work is more than just a visual image. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. The powerful colors and dynamic visual language make her work a striking statement in both modern and classical interiors.

Digital artwork on canvas

This artwork is a digital artwork designed by Nicole Lubbers and finely printed on canvas. It is not mixed media, and the canvas is not hand-painted or retouched.

The strength of the work lies in the image composition, color usage and the distinctive look of the design. By printing on canvas, the digital artwork gains a high-quality presentation suitable for various interior styles.

Delivery and presentation

The artwork is delivered without a frame and without a floater frame. You will receive the canvas carefully rolled, so you can determine how you want to present the artwork yourself.

You can, for example, have the canvas framed or stretched on a professional framers’ system on a floater frame.

Important when stretching: please note that for stretching the canvas you need at least 5 cm extra canvas on each side. This margin is necessary to fold and secure the fabric properly around the floater frame. Therefore, when determining the final size, allow for a minimum 5 cm extra margin on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker.
