Rare original edition of Histoire, structure et symbolisme du Tarot by Raymond Abellio, published in Paris by the Club du Livre in 1980. This is a remarkable bibliophile portfolio limited to just 120 copies, gathering Abellio's text on the structure and symbolism of the Tarot and the 22 major arcana lithographed in color by Pierre Jacquot.
The work develops an esoteric and structural reading of the Tarot, in the continuation of Raymond Abellio's research on the “absolute structure.”
Jacquot’s plates present a highly personal iconography, rich in astrological, Kabbalistic, and Hermetic symbols.
Copy no. 10/120, handwritten numbering visible on the plates. The work is presented in a rigid red leather binding/slipcase, embossed, and adorned with zodiacal and esoteric symbols.
