Description from the seller
Very beautiful vintage trivet (also able to serve as wall decoration thanks to its hanger) in fine earthenware, produced by the famous French manufactory Gien.
It features the prestigious and iconic decoration "Renaissance Fond Bleu" (blue night / cobalt blue). The central motif presents a cherub (putto) finely executed at the heart of a stylized shield, surrounded by rich scrolls, volutes, foliage and a double ochre geometric border.
The contrast between the deep blue, touches of saffron yellow and white offers a superb, very bright visual rendering.
The ceramic tile is solidly integrated into its original gilded twisted metal frame, equipped with four small protective feet for the table and a back suspension chain.
Marks and stamps (see photos): The back of the tile bears the relief markings characteristic of the manufacture: "GIEN" and "FRANCE
Excellent overall condition for its age.
The earthenware retains all its gloss and the brilliance of its original colors. No crack, no major chip, decals intact.
Note: The metal frame shows a natural patina of use that attests to its vintage authenticity.
