Italian school (XVIII) - Pietà

Oil painting on copper depicting a Pietà with the Virgin Mary supporting the lifeless body of Jesus.
There is the traditional sacred iconography of the Pietà, in which the Madonna wears dark/blue garments and supports the laid-out Son.
It is an 18th-century painting (Baroque or late Baroque) as can be seen from the characteristic chiaroscuro of the scene.
The provenance is presumably Italian or at least European.
The dimensions are approximately 21 x 16.4 cm.
