Elegant bucchero ceramic decorative jug, black glossy finish, 43 cm tall with a slim body and curved handle, 12 cm wide and 8 cm deep, weighing 350 g, made in Italy by an artisan, dating to 1970–1980, with Greek-inspired red-figure motifs and a male figure playing a wind instrument, a decorative piece suitable for classical-ceramics collections or interior decor.
Description from the seller
The object has a slender, streamlined shape, with a tapering body, a narrow neck, a slightly flared mouth, and a large arched side handle that extends from the upper part to the shoulder.
The surface, made of glossy black glazed ceramic, is decorated with figures and motifs in terracotta/ochre tones, in the style of ancient Greek red-figure pottery.
The principal decoration depicts a male figure in classical dress playing a wind instrument, presumably an aulos. The scene is completed by stylized plant elements and a decorative meander band running along the upper part of the body.
The overall appearance is highly decorative and is particularly suitable both for a collection of classical-inspired ceramics and as a furnishing accessory.
