Crucifix - Silver - 1850-1900

Extraordinary silver crucifix, crafted in silver with repoussé and chasing work.

It typically features the Body of Christ, with the cross fashioned in the form of a tree trunk, a radiating aureole with cherubs, and the skull with crossed bones (memento mori) at the base.

Excellent Italian craftsmanship from the mid-19th century.

Dimensions: 40 cm x 22 cm x 6 cm

Good condition, with only one small dent on the bottom (highlighted in the photos).

A chemical test with acid was carried out to confirm the silver’s authenticity (test shown in the photos) directly on the object and on the test stone.
