Aniello Eco (1919-2000) - Zampognari

Splendid oil painting signed bottom right by the well-known artist Anillo Eco, depicting a typical scene from Southern folk tradition: two bagpipers in motion, intent on playing their traditional instruments (the zampogna and the ciaramella). The work captures with great mastery the realism and the atmosphere of Christmas folklore and rural life. The figures are portrayed in traditional period attire of the era, characterized by dark cloaks, hats, and scarves, rendered with thick, expressive brushstrokes and warm, earthy tones that enhance the outdoor setting.
