Original artwork: Unique teddy bear print on (heavy) laid paper
This original work was created with a second-hand teddy bear, obtained from flea markets or rescued from the waste stream. The teddy bear has been dipped in deep dark red acrylic ink and then pressed in one motion onto high-quality museum paper. Each print is unique; because of the printing technique and the deformation of the bear, the same image can never be reproduced.
The teddy bear is a recurring motif in Michiel Folkers's (Gieler) oeuvre and appears in both his studio and street work.

Michiel Folkers (1982), better known as Gieler, began in the late 1990s as a graffiti artist in Amsterdam. The influence of the street is still visible in his work: direct, raw and experimental. From his studio he develops unique techniques in which everyday objects are used as printing tools. His work is in private collections and is sold internationally through galleries and art platforms.

Michiel Folkers is a mixed media artist living and working in Amsterdam. Selling his work all over the world and exposing in galleries from Zurich to New York. He is best known for his layered artworks, large canvasses, in which he blend colorful streetposters together with spray paint and acrylics. He is pulling and collecting these streetposters himself for every individual artwork and is using this as base for all his pieces. On top of these layered backgrounds he paints, screenprint or paste recognizable themes for example comics or celebs (from now or the past) but also large abstract paintings. Always important the background doesn't get lost but entangles with the subject. Every piece is unique and looks like a brick of wall that you want to hang in your home. Every piece is finished with a strong and shiny lacquer layer.
All artworks are ready to hang, will be shipped fast, in high secure wooden crates, together with a Certificate of Authencity.
