AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
This Indian miniature painting from the 20th century, executed in the Persian-Mughal style, depicts a royal gathering in a lush garden. Around a centrally placed figure beneath a canopy are courtiers and attendants, surrounded by cypress trees, flowering plants, rock formations and pavilions.
The composition is inspired by the refined miniature painting of Persian and Mughal manuscripts, in which court life and idealized gardens were beloved subjects. The bright colors, fine outlines and decorative plant motifs in the wide border enhance the graceful character of the work. It is likely a 20th-century Indian imitation or free interpretation of an older example.
Dimensions: 112 x 84 cm
Dimensions with frame: 116 x 88 cm
Viewing possible.
