POPLEA presents ISOLA@39 XL— by POPLEA (2000), an original acrylic painting of 100 by 100 cm, signed by hand, from France, dated 2000 in the title and produced from 2020, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
This work sits within the great tradition of gestural and immediate drawing, popularized notably by Keith Haring: a deliberately simple vocabulary, almost universal, where a few lines are enough to create a strong, recognizable and extremely contemporary presence. Behind this apparent clarity lies the very difficulty: in art, what appears the simplest is often the most demanding in terms of mastery, rhythm, and precision.
On this deep blue background, white acts as writing. The eye, the star, the rainbow, the umbrella, the animal shapes and the small signs become almost modern hieroglyphs, with something very graphic, almost Egyptian in the way they occupy the space and tell a story without text.
The line remains deliberately lively: irregularities, reprises, thicknesses and small imperfections are an integral part of the work and give it its handmade character. At close range, you perceive the gesture; from afar, the painting becomes a true image-signature.
It’s a work that makes a strong presence in any interior: the blue/white contrast immediately draws the eye without being aggressive, and its square format gives it architectural power. A piece that is simultaneously playful, graphic, and highly decorative, and that works just as well in a contemporary apartment as in a more classical interior where it immediately creates contrast.
A seemingly simple work, but extremely well constructed: direct, identifiable and hard to forget.
The canvas is sold rolled, not stretched on a frame.
The frame is not included and is only a presentation suggestion

The artist Popléa:
If you own this piece, you hold an authentic work signed Popléa.
But you should know: Popléa is a pseudonym.
He or she has not yet revealed their identity — intentionally. This choice is part of a broader artistic project, a form of experiment:
Create without a name, without status, without biography.
The work alone. The image alone. What it evokes. What you feel.
The artist behind Popléa is already exhibited, recognized, collected — but wanted to explore another path, freer. To refuse filters, codes, discourses.
To refuse that it should always be the same — galleries, experts, networks — who decide what has value.
Perhaps what you own is the beginning of something.
Or perhaps it is simply a work that speaks to you, here and now.
Both options are beautiful.
And ultimately, perhaps that is the real luxury.
Latest buyer comments:
"Very happy with my purchase! The piece received is magnificent, one can immediately sense the technical skill and the effort that went into it. The packaging was particularly careful."
"Exceptional packaging for a work that is equally exceptional! Thank you to the artist for this quality work."
