The painting does not show the skiing, but the stop just before: the car is loaded, the village is within reach, and everything rests in this sunlit pause. He does not seek cold or effort; he maintains the calm poise of a vacation poster, where a single red blotch suffices to hold all the snow.
Cobalt blue without a cloud, whites of snow and knit, bright red of the coat, warm browns of the chalets’ woods, gray-blue of the chromes. The figure and the bodywork are painted with a brush, with a clear line and smooth modeled form, while the snow is laid down with a knife in thick, scaly impressions that are traversed by long blue shadows. The foreground and the village rooftops are the areas richest in material, white in full body that catches the light.

KLARA SCHNEE is one of the creations uniting artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop and free figuration. The name states the material of the series: Schnee, snow in German, and Klara, clarity — a bright, sunlit snow, never grey. Under this signature, the Studio paints blonde women in twisted-knit pullovers with white glasses in alpine hotel settings: wooden chalets under powdery snow, loaded pines, illuminated peaks, cloudless cobalt sky, and always a red piece that holds the canvas by itself. The lineage is that of the 1950s ski-poster and the American illustrated pin-up, here reinterpreted in painting: a clear drawing and an idealized silhouette on one side, snow laid down with knife in white impastos that catch the light on the other.
