Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Contrefaçon Originale" - 17/30
When counterfeiting becomes an original work.
After the triumph of the Aurora Borealis series by AMA often copied and on the verge of censorship by luxury giants under the pretense of "counterfeiting", the artist Pope strikes even harder.
Here is "Aurora Contrefaçon Originale" : a bold pop art lamp, a mocking nod to censorship and a luminous manifesto for freedom of creation.
A unique pop art lamp, where the words "DO NOT BUY" and "COUNTERFEIT" can be read in full… More reason to want to own it.
The day: a chrome-silver gleaming bear cub.
The night: a multicolored aurora borealis that lights up your interior.
An ironic contrast between prohibition and desire.
Limited edition of 30 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced cardboard) with signature required on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (steady, faded transitions, simple transitions)
- Electrical power via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm

Edition of artistic customization and finish: 17/30 — 2025.
Who is Pope?
Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard for detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and awed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a keepsake or part of your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited or unlimited editions), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, and products of the agri-food and fashion industries (sport, sneakers, etc.).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously appropriate labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to appreciate the lot being sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unfounded claim will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
