Vintage Precision Balance with Brass Weights, Milligram Weights and Original Fitted Case

Beautiful vintage precision balance, complete with its original fitted storage case and a comprehensive set of brass and small fractional weights.
The balance features a brass beam, two suspended weighing pans with fine chains and a removable upright support. The upright can be unscrewed for storage inside the fitted case.
Included are graduated brass weights, including 20 g, 10 g, 5 g and smaller denominations, together with a selection of small fractional/milligram weights and tweezers for handling the smallest weights.
The balance is housed in its original fitted case with velvet lining. The case and balance show normal signs of age and use.
The balance mechanism has been tested: the beam swings freely and settles centrally when unloaded, and it responds to a 1 g load. Accuracy and calibration have not been professionally verified.
No manufacturer's mark or identification stamp has been found.

The brass components are non-magnetic. The tweezers are magnetic, as are the metal fittings/locks of the case.

Good overall vintage condition with normal age-related marks and wear. The velvet-lined case shows some signs of use. Brass surfaces have retained an attractive patinated/vintage appearance.
Only the plastic case (holding the milligrams weights) is damaged but it holds the weights perfectly.. the threads can hold the upper lid.
