Nicole Lubbers - Verstilling

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an innovative and idiosyncratic approach to abstract art, in which painting, relief, and sculptural elements come together. With rich colors, layered structures, and diverse materials, she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength, and transformation.

Her international career has seen strong development in recent years. Lubbers was proclaimed Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally, her work has been shown and planned for exhibitions in, among others, New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China, and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A particularly high point is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition, Nicole presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision together with artist Michael Lam. Here Lam’s flowing Single Stroke Painting and Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures meet. The color purple forms the connecting line between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality, and transformation.

The work of Nicole Lubbers is more than decoration. Her compositions invite contemplation of perseverance, growth, and overcoming challenges. Each piece forms a powerful and tangible statement that gives a space character, energy, and individuality.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a dolls maker. Her artworks are delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
