Anselm Prester (1909–1959) created the oil on canvas painting Voralpiner See mit Fischer und Boot (probably Chiemsee) in the 1970s–1980s, a German landscape work sized 60.6 cm by 80.4 cm and signed.
Description from the seller
Voralpiner See with a fisherman and boat (probably Chiemsee or a comparable Upper Bavarian/Austrian alpine lake).
Artist: Anselm Prester (born 1943). Note on life dates: The well-known East Frisian painter Anselm Prester (originally from Bavaria) still lives and works on Langeoog.
Origin country: Germany (or Austria / Central Europe).
Year of origin / period: Second half of the 20th century (approx. 1970s to 1980s). The stamp on the back of the canvas ("A S VIKTORIA MALERLEINEN" with the coat of arms, visible in image_10.png) refers to a traditional brand; the founding "1844" relates to the manufacturer’s anniversary, not the creation year of the painting.
Style: Late Romantic Realism / homeland and landscape painting in the tradition of the Munich School of the 19th century. The motif deliberately references the Chiemoß idyll style of classical masters.
Technique: Oil painting with visible, partly impasto brushwork (especially in the foreground and along the shore structures).
Material: Oil on artist’s canvas, stretched on a frame.
Dimensions: Height 60.6 cm × Width 80.4 cm.
Condition
The painting, according to the photos, is in good to very good condition.
The canvas tension is intact.
The paint layer shows no significant damage, deep scratches, or large areas of blistering/flaking.
At the outer edges there are minimal, age-related abrasions from a previous framing.
Shipping note
The painting will be securely packed for transport and shipped insured only.
