Description from the seller

About the series "Galaxy Advertising"

In Galaxy Advertising, Kobalt invents a language no one speaks—not even him. An unlikely blend of zero-gravity Cyrillic and Martian calligraphy vaguely Asian, this writing is supposed to be the most spoken across neighboring galaxies… No point trying to translate it: it says nothing, yet it says it beautifully. A cosmic wink to a communication from very, very far away — or just from another imaginary world.

Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the path of a polymath artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a designer, Kobalt discovered very early his first passion, music production. This passion guided him in his youth, and his precocious talents led him to make a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education in the creation of his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album did not achieve the expected success, but it marked the beginning of an artistic career rich in experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt entered the world of advertising as a copywriter/designer for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he brought his creativity to the publication, creating and producing the magazine's advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career came in 2005 when he became a cameraman, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovered a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founded his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt made a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who had become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Kobalt stands out with more than 3,000 artworks sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by bold use of humor, provocation and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reappropriating magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt chose to stay off social media, preserving a certain level of privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation and humor.
