Joakim Eneroth - alone with others

It is a series of photographs that depict public places such as beaches, parking lots, ski slopes, and parks; spaces in which we are part of a collective, yet we remain anonymous and separated. The depicted scenes read as silent meditations on the complex feeling of wanting to experience a sense of belonging while maintaining a certain distance.
The series can also be interpreted as a contemplation of the existential dilemma of being alone in our personal experience of life.
We are born alone and we die alone.
The photographs in the series Being Alone with Others have been taken in India, Sweden, Spain, England, and the United States, and are shot with a large-format camera.
