The Three Graces, a 2026 oil painting by Emmanuelle Capatos (b. 2000) from the United Kingdom, a still life, signed and original, measuring 13 cm by 18 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Three white flowers emerge from a rich arrangement of green leaves, their delicate petals illuminated against an almost black background. Closely observed and presented at intimate scale, the flowers become the entire focus of the composition, creating a sense of quiet presence and natural elegance.
The restrained palette gives the painting a particularly atmospheric quality. Deep greens and shadows surround the pale blossoms, while touches of warm colour at the centres of the flowers bring subtle life to the composition. The visible brushwork follows the structure of the petals and leaves, preserving the immediacy of the artist’s observation.
The title evokes the classical idea of the Three Graces, transforming a simple botanical subject into a small allegory of beauty, harmony and companionship. There is a strong connection to traditional floral still life, while the expressive handling of light and paint gives the work a contemporary, impressionist sensibility.

Emmanuelle Capatos
Born in 2000, Emmanuelle Capatos is a British painter working in the tradition of classical oil painting.
While studying Theatre and French for her Bachelor of Arts, Capatos experienced a decisive calling towards painting in 2020, subsequently redirecting her path towards the study and practice of traditional oil painting. She completed her atelier training at The Glasgow Academy of Fine Art in 2024, where she later worked as an assistant teacher, studio manager and Anatomy Instructor.
Capatos’ practice explores the relationship between material realism and deeper symbolic meaning. Drawing upon the visual traditions of ancient Egypt, Greece and Mesopotamia, she is interested in the enduring language of symbolism and narrative, and in the ways painting can engage with human nature and the spiritual dimensions of everyday life.
Through the discipline of traditional oil painting, Capatos seeks to reveal the beauty and significance present in the world around us.
