Reproduction of an ancient "Drink if You Can". An object of old tradition in Italy, these are mouthless vessels composed of internal and external channels. These perforated cups prevented the contents from being drank in the usual way, frustrating the dazed drinker who ended up getting its liquid all over from the holes. In addition to provoking the laughter of the guests, the fun lay in finding a way to reveal the trick and manage to drink its contents. The trick of these decanters or puzzle cups lay in the hidden channels inside the handles and the rim, which allowed someone in the know to drink their contents by closing the holes or by using a small straw passing through one of the tiny spouts on the rim, leaving the deceived to his frustration. This piece is from late 20th-century Italy, from Grottaglie in Puglia; see the photos for condition. There are no damages, only signs of wear. Dimensions: 20 x 13 x height 25 cm and weight 1500 g.
