Born in 1958 in Queens, New York, Quik is a living legend of graffiti. He began his career in the seventies, marking New York subway cars with his name. Unlike many of his peers, he early on incorporated a social and introspective dimension into his art, blending the aesthetics of the tag with critical messages about society and his own life.
Recognized for his stylized characters and sharp humor, he managed to translate the energy of the street onto canvas from the eighties. Today, his works are exhibited in prestigious museums such as the MoMA.
