Günter König (1926-2007) - Bauernkate

Günter Kessler (b. 1926 in Gießen; d. 2007 in Kettwig) signed, on the lower right with G König, this scene in the style of 17th-century landscape painting. The oil painting is in the original frame on a 57 x 96 cm stretched canvas and shows a small peasant cottage with a shed and a farmer feeding roaming chickens. The color palette is very restrained. There is slight craquelure in an otherwise flawless painting. The painting is from family ownership and will be shipped framed.
