interesting and very dramatic, this late 19th-century-style doll accompanied by a monumental polychrome wooden swing.

1) Beautiful doll with blond hair, the face, the forearms with hands, and the calves with feet are made of a high-quality cold porcelain-like polymer material; the body is fabric stuffed to a good proportion; the eyes are painted and fixed.

The clothes are fabric, hand-sewn, in the “lace and fringe” style of the 19th/early 20th century, with plastic shoes and metal closures. (Small age-related imperfections)

Measurements: Height 41 cm when standing, weight 500 g

2) Swing, very dramatic and decidedly artistic in its proportions and architectural decorations.

In wood, carved and hand-engraved (see photos), it has elegant elements reminiscent of the Liberty style, indeed Art Nouveau, being of French origin.

The supports for the swing seat are iron. It is truly beautiful!! No cracks or repairs.

Measurements: height 63 cm. Width 30.5 cm. Depth 34.5 cm. Weight 2,400 g.

In my opinion the two pieces were not made together, but are of the right size, paired. I consider the doll younger than the swing, and although very well made, the quality of the swing seems to be higher.

They come from an elderly Savoyard collector, bought in the last decade of the 19th century in France, in a shop of antique items and collecting.
