Omega - Seamaster - 198.001 - Men - 1970-1979

Offered for sale is this Omega Seamaster Electronic Chronometer, reference 198.001, dating from the early 1970s. Powered by the calibre 1250, one of Omega's f300Hz tuning fork movements developed jointly with Bulova under licence, this watch represents a distinctive chapter in Omega's transition-era electronics, bridging mechanical and quartz technology. This movement features a second hand that sweeps beautifully around the dial.

The watch is running properly and keeps the time well. The champagne dial remains attractive, with applied baton markers, a date window, and the "Seamaster Chronometer" signature below the Omega logo. The gold-plated case is complemented by a stainless-steel caseback bearing the original Omega markings and reference number 198.001.

At approximately 36mm, the watch has a classic vintage size that wears comfortably. It is fitted with a new, quality Hirsch leather strap, adjustable up to 20cm wrist size.
