Description from the seller
Spain, General Franco, tanker helmet of the army. First model, 1943-1954. It is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. It was the first, made in Spain, used by the new Francoist army after the civil war, used between 1943 and 1954. In 1943 Franco bought a battalion of German PzKpfw IV panzer tanks for the recently created Armored Division No. 1, which would be integrated into the Armored Infantry Regiment "Alcázar de Toledo Nº 61". To this end, in a first attempt to adequately uniform the crews of those units, it was decided to manufacture a regulatory helmet. The chosen "tank" helmet was an imitation, quite acceptable, of the Italian counterpart of those dates, the "carrista" model of 1935 (which would be used at Spanish civil war by Mussolini CTV and massively throughout World War II). It was in service until 1954, the year in which Spain renewed all the tanks, buying the new models from the United States that brought new equipment. Made in dark brown or black leather with wide neck and ear protection. Complete with balaclava, inner lining fabric and chinstrap with buckle. It bears the metallic emblem of the new Francoist army, the Eagle of San Juan and the Cross of Santiago. Good condition, with several normal signs of use and the passage of time, see photos. Made by Andrés Romanillos. Tank combat tank cannon artillery artillery tanker armored military war uniform helmet cap hat distinctive cavalry insignia howitzer shield front war military army.
