Description from the seller
RETRATO #135
Series: Las 1000 Caras
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
Year: 2026
Original and unique work
In Portrait #135 I construct a female figure with a serene gaze and sculptural presence. The verticality of the face and neck extends into a geometric blue and black headdress, crowned by a light circle that organizes the upper part of the composition.
I work from a neocubist and hard-edge language, combining color planes and defined outlines. I split the face between cream and orange, and I incorporate a lavender surface that runs across one cheek. The elongated earrings, small yellow accents, and red lips introduce focal points within a balanced structure.
I contrast the petrol blue and lavender of the background with the plum and orange tones of the outfit. The light lapels and the diagonal stripe provide rhythm to the composition. I aim to convey a blend of calm, elegance, and firmness, leaving the character’s identity open to interpretation.
This work is part of my series Las 1000 Caras, a project in which I explore different identities through geometric fragmentation, color, and simplification of forms.
To protect the painting during transport, I ship the canvas carefully packaged and rolled inside a sturdy tube. The work is delivered without a frame and must be mounted by the buyer.

ARTISTIC SERIES: LAS 1000 CARAS
Las 1000 Caras is my ongoing artistic project, with the aim of gathering one thousand original portraits, numbered and different from one another. Through this series I explore human identity and the multiple ways a face can express character, emotions, experiences, and inner states.
I build each character from a particular combination of lines, geometric shapes, and color relationships. Although I maintain a recognizable visual language throughout the collection, I develop for each face its own composition, personality, and chromatic balance. Each painting is a unique piece within the whole.
With the fragmentation of the face I do not seek to hide identity, but to show it from different perspectives. I use color planes to explore the facets that can coexist within the same person: strength and fragility, serenity and tension, reality and imagination.
My goal is for each work to function independently and, at the same time, to be part of a much broader universe. When I complete the series, the thousand portraits will form a visual archive dedicated to diversity, individuality, and the complexity of being human.
With Portrait #135 I continue this journey, exploring how elongated shapes, chromatic contrasts, and a direct gaze can give personality to a figure constructed from geometry.
